Explore hidden worlds: What makes Connectome stand out

Connectome is an artful puzzle adventure that grows in complexity as you delve deeper. You step into a blank space that slowly comes alive through subtle gestures — think scanning your surroundings with your palms or linking floating dots in midair.

Grant Hinkson, founder of Parietal Lab and the creative mind behind Connectome, describes the game as many things at once: an interactive art piece, a casual game, and a meditative escape. Hinkson brings a wealth of experience from his time at Xbox and Amazon, where he contributed to projects like Xbox Music and Video and various devices in the Echo lineup.

In Connectome, the world around you blossoms as you perform a series of intuitive, hand-based interactions to reveal hidden objects. At the heart of the gameplay is a kind of three-dimensional connect-the-dots mechanic — instantly familiar, yet surprisingly immersive.

At launch, Connectome features 20 distinct rooms, each with its own layout and unique interactive twists. The entire experience unfolds to an atmospheric soundscape that enhances the visual environment.

One thing that sets Connectome apart: it’s fully built around hand tracking — controllers are not supported. Instead, you interact through natural gestures like connecting points or pinching shapes into existence.

There’s no win or lose condition here — the focus is on the experience itself. Connectome launches May 27, 2025, for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3/3S, and Meta Quest Pro.
